Session 1: Everything Has Purpose
Scavenger Hunt Recess Time
Time: 10-20 min.
Let’s take the scavenger hunt into recess! After the facilitator introduces the “big idea,” students will explore their surroundings to find items that match the theme.
Superpower Daily Check-In
Time: 5-10 min. a day
We want our students to exercise their strengths by logging them in their superpower journals over the week! Each student will receive a weekly superpower log and document their progress.
Everyday Superheroes-Show & Tell
Time: 20-25 min.
Everywhere we look, there are everyday superheroes among us! This classroom activity encourages students to identify real-life "superheroes" within their families, communities, and schools. Students will reflect on the admirable qualities of these heroes and consider which of these traits they want to develop in themselves
My Favorite Superhero
Time: 20-25 min.
Everywhere we look, there are everyday superheroes among us! This classroom activity encourages students to explore the qualities and characteristics of people they admire. They are applying the power of words to build others up.
Session 2: Superpowers Everywhere
Emotional Regulation
Time: 20-25 min.
Students will learn to recognize and name different emotions and discuss situations where those emotions arise.
Emotion Charades
Time: 15-25 min.
In this interactive game, students pass an emotion down a line using only facial expressions and hand gestures—no words allowed! The last student in line guesses the emotion, with up to two retries if incorrect.
Box Breathing
Time: 10-15 min.
Remember how Slo the Sloth calmed his friends down during the mic crisis by taking deep breaths and reassuring everyone? Teach your students this simple breathing technique to help them regulate their emotions and stay calm.
Session 3: Differences Make Us Special
Thumbprints with the Family
Time: 15-20 min.
After comparing our thumbprints with those of our classmates, it's time to bring this exploration home to our families! Students will guide their family members through the Thumbprint Craft activity, reinforcing the concept that everyone is unique while deepening family connections.
Animal Venn Diagram
Time: 15-20 min.
Let's explore similarities and differences by comparing animals. In this activity, the teacher will draw a Venn diagram on the board, labeling it with different animals. The class will work together to identify unique and shared strengths of each animal.
Pairs that Join Forces
Time: 15-20 min.
Just like peanut butter and jelly, some things are better together! Students will pair different items on a worksheet and share their creative ideas on why those pairs work well.
Human Line
Time: 15-25 min.
Get in a line to find our similarities and differences! Students will practice their team skills by creating a line-up based on different prompts. The challenge is that they can’t talk to one another. Instead, they will use nonverbal cues to line up in order.
Growth Mindset Video
Time: 10-15 min.
Watch this video on growth mindset to teach children the importance of perseverance, resilience, and believing in their ability to improve through effort and dedication. After the video, lead a group discussion to explore the power of a growth mindset.
Session 4: Words Have Power
Class Affirmation Jar
Time: 5-15 min.
Words give life! We want to teach our students the power of encouragement and how to verbalize the good we see in one another. Students will write affirmations to add to a jar and can take one out whenever they need a boost.
Sticky Note Affirmations
Time: 5-15 min.
Encouraging words are powerful! Students will write personalized affirmations on sticky notes and place them on their classmates' desks to spread positivity and encouragement.
Superpower Bingo Hunt
Time: 20-25 min.
Superpower Bingo is a fun and interactive game that helps our students recognize and appreciate the different attributes in their classmates. This game encourages students to engage with each other and affirm the qualities that make each of them unique and special.
Rock, Paper, Scissors
Time: 10-20 min.
Students will play the classic Rock, Paper, Scissors game with a twist: the winner gets to give an affirmation! The rule? “Whoever wins gives an affirmation!” Each student will have three chances to win and share a positive message with their partner.
Uniqueverse Affirmation Cards
Time: 5-20 min. a day
Our MILLU Uniqueverse Affirmation Cards are a community favorite. Each deck comes with 150 cards and 15 prompts to help break beyond surface level conversations. Everyone of all ages love choosing a character they like and receiving an affirmation!
Thank You Card/Drawing
Time: 20-25 min.
In this activity, your students will draw and write thank you cards to the superheroes in their lives, honoring family members or school faculty they admire. Kids can add their own creative spin to each thank you card!
Session 5: My Superpowers
Superpower Journal
Time: 20-25 min.
Jump into your Superpower Journal each day to write about the amazing superpowers you and your classmates acted on ! It’s like being a superhero detective, finding and celebrating everyone’s hidden powers while keeping a log
Looking Back and Moving Forward
Time: 20-25 min.
In Reflection and Future Visioning, students write letters to their future selves, capturing their current experiences and goals. By sealing and later revisiting these letters, students engage in a powerful reflective practice that encourages goal setting and self-awareness, helping bridge the gap between today’s aspirations and tomorrow’s achievements.
My Super Comic
Time: 20-25 min.
Students will unleash their inner superhero by creating comic strips where they solve problems using their unique superpowers. As they sketch out challenges they will overcome, they'll discover new ways to apply their strengths and share their adventurous tales with classmates.
Collage Mirror
Time: 30-40 min.
In this activity, creating collages that showcase our unique traits and dreams helps us see how they paint a picture of who we are. This isn't just fun art—it's about understanding and valuing our diverse stories and expressing our inner worlds.
Session 6: Wrap Up
Supercrew Graduation Board
Time: 20-25 min.
Superheroes unite! Let's commemorate our superhero identities by creating a visual display that reminds us of our collective strength and unity. Additionally, you can involve families in this celebration by sharing our superhero identities with them through email or inviting them to a special parent-student day.
Hero's Journey Map
Time: 20-25 min.
In the Hero's Journey Map activity, students create a visual map of their school year, marking key milestones and reflecting on their growth. This artistic and reflective activity allows students to see their year as a personal evolution story, fostering creativity and self-awareness.
Uniqueverse Superpowers Talent Show
Prep Time: 15-20 min. a day Show Time: 60-90 min.
Just like how the SuperCrew finished off with a talent show to showcase their unique superpowers, your class can too! You can even invite parents and create a family engagement event out of it.
