Our Why

Whether you’re a parent, a caregiver, or a teacher, we see you — you’re our heroes! With the craziness that comes with everyday life, work, long to-do lists, you spend so much time for your children, but it can be difficult to carve out intentional time with them — that’s why we exist.

Studies have shown that it's not just about the amount of time spent with your kids, but the depth of the interaction. It's about quality not just quantity. "It's not about adding more, it's about recapturing the time."

Our kits are created to do just that, with busy caregivers in mind. We reach children the most pivotal age, where attention and quality time together matters most. Childhood significantly affects future cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, and physical development.

We go deep in character formation while making it easy for busy caregiver to bond and grow together.

Check our "Brainy Side of our Why" page to learn about the science behind our kits.

We co-create these kits with our community!

After interviewing hundreds of people, we observed that many challenges we face today could have been alleviated by more intentional time with safe adults in childhood. We believe that creating safe spaces to talk through life questions and passing down intergenerational wisdom is vital to healthy development in a child’s life. Our Millu makers are therapists, educators, industry leaders and everyday families.

We asked over 100 people our “Golden Question”:

What is something you know now that you wish you knew when you were younger?

Many responded with: "If I knew_____ it would've helped me so much in life."

This is how our kit ideas are developed! We follow a human design thinking process, leaning into a spirit of prototyping and innovating continuously for the best possible experience for you.

We believe in our mission because the life foundations of our children rely on the quality time spent with adults that matter to them the most.
